Ballast
Minerals are produced by taking benefit from customized sizes and graining. The current sizes include 0-5, 5-15, 15-40 and 90-120mm for limestone and dolomite and 25-65 for ballast stone used for the foundations works of railways.
Steel Industries Mineral Supply (SIMS) Co. was established in 1991 with the purpose of supplying limestone and dolomite required for the steel manufacturing, sugar and cubic sugar filtration and paper making industries in Khouzestan Province and commenced exploitation from Chenareh Mines.
Now this company has included the calcined and hydrated dolomite and limestone production plan in its agenda in addition to supplying the raw limestone and dolomite requirements of steel manufacturing industries, while production and supplying ballast stone required for Islamic Republic of Iran Railways has taken a considerable part of the sales development program of this company within the recent years. This company has the biggest active mine in Khouzestan Province.
